First love
About 4years ago, A lady confessed to me how she had fallen from her first love with Christ and have now yielded herself to immoral living. She had walked in victory over that before so she knew the difference. Only thing now is ...amidst her striving to get back on her feet, there was a confusion that would have kept her down permanently.
The guy that was now coming to her house for fornication every Wednesday was a very knowledgeable teacher of the word who after every sexual session would be baffled that she is feeling bad about what just happened. The girl was simply reacting to her doing something that was actually strange to the NATURE of the Spirit that now resides in her.
The guy was neither remorseful nor repentant about this each time but would just stand up from the bed, confess some scriptures and re-affirm the finished works of Christ for that week. Then still surprised about how the lady reacted, would scold her for her continual ignorance of the word, Prove to her from scriptures why she doesn't need to feel bad when she fornicates, teach her some confessions and set the next appointment for the sexual pleasure. His confidence was that the fornications have been paid for in advance, God has no more concern with what he does but what Jesus did... so no shaking!!
All this was to make her get to a point where she can fornicate, quote those selected verses, kill her conscience and be happy doing it "in Christ"!! By the time this happens... It is believed that she would have gained her "freedom"!! .... This is the most attractive and beneficial freedom to everyone out there who really loves his sin and won't trade it for anything!!
MY RESPONSE
I sat her down... Showed her that GOD is at WORK in Her both TO WILL and TO DO of HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Let her know that the negative reaction she's feeling inside her is a resultant effect of that working... Pulling her away from that which doesn't please God and NOT A RESULT OF IGNORANCE. I assured her that Christ has paid for even this sinful act and she has access to His forgiveness in GENUINE REPENTANCE. Nevertheless GOD wants to achieve in her HIS GOOD PLEASURE... A state of victory where she would no longer yield to her crucified sinful NATURE.
By the next Wednesday, she sent Mr. Bible teacher away from sleeping in her house. Of course I monitored his eviction. Then I began to ensure she fed her Spirit man well enough knowing fully well her stand depended a great deal on her inner stamina. I have seen so many like her begin to walk in stress-less victory thereafter WITHOUT STRUGGLE.
The target of the finished works of Christ in her is NOT JUST TO PAY FOR HER SINS BUT TO BRING HER I TO THE FULL STATURE OF THAT CHRIST IN PERSON. This is the work of the Pastor, Apostle, etc and until it happens we are not done!!
Jesus didn't come to make a prostitute a justified prostitute. No!! The prostitute is forgiven, sanctified, justified and engraced to live NO MORE as a prostitute. She shall now learn to walk out of prostitution with THAT GRACE.
OR did you think the armed robber simply needs to just take one Sunday out of business to accept what Jesus did on the cross and go back to business now as a JUSTIFIED ARMED ROBBER. No... He is not just the the lamb of God that taketh away the sins.... He is Jesus because He shall SAVE them from it.
John made us know that there is something in a believer that should make it practically impossible to sin... He said, " FOR HIS SEED REMAINETH IN HIM" Yet he said IF ..... we sin... We have an advocate! John was so convinced of the capacity of God's seed within a believer to hold him/her from doing that which displeases God.
You can believe any variant of the gospel you like .... I will learn from you so long as it ultimately produces CHRIST IN YOUR CHARACTER, shinning that difference amongst others in your office and environ so much that even infidels would be attracted to your God demonstrated live in your deeds and not just mouth. This is the true WITNESS we bear to what Christ has done in us... This is what has made unbelievers come to me to lead them to Christ... Not grammatical excavation of theology that has no power of CONVERSION!
I don't know plenty English but when I see Christ manifesting his very life and mind in someone's life without struggle... This type of Christianity convicts sinners and even people that hate Jesus... I can differentiate it easy from someone struggling to do right with human effort.
At the end of the day... what result is your faith producing? What difference does the darkness around your so called light testify about you??? Can we still see Jesus in you without you saying a word!!! Selah!!
